The Google Play Store listing of the Paytm app is currently showing an error, stating, “We’re sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server.” This means that Android users can no longer download the Paytm app. All existing users who have the app installed on their device can still use all the services provided by the app. This is the first time Google has removed digital payments behemoth Paytm from the Play Store.
Google has not specifically stated the reason behind the downing of Paytm apps downloaded by millions of users with around 50 million monthly active users in India. But in a blog posted today, the tech giant cites a policy on gambling.
